Level 1 Award in Youth Work Practice (5 Credits)
Level 1 Award in Practical Youth Work/Ministry Skills (6 Credits
This qualification targeted at young people (14+) is designed for learners who have been involved in a youth group and have leadership aspirations. The qualification consists of three core themes, which enable learners to gain an understanding of leadership within a youth group, develop communication skills to support their leadership development, and implement leadership with others through the planning, delivery and evaluation of a youth work activity.
Level 1 Award in Peer Mentoring for Young People (3 Credits)
This qualification targeted at young people (14+) has been designed to help learners understand the role of the peer mentor and the benefits it can bring to people and communities.
Level 2 Certificate in Youth Work Practice (24 Credits)
This Certificate qualification for adults (18+) currently in a leadership capacity within a youth work/ministry context incorporates the Award -13 credits and is made up of 10 units covering a range of topics such as the context of youth work in Northern Ireland as well as providing an understanding of the needs of young people, health and safety, safeguarding and managing challenging behaviour. It also includes knowledge and guidance on how to plan, deliver and evaluate a youth work activity. This Level 2 Certificate is assessed through a written portfolio of material and evidence of engagement in workshop activities.
This qualification targeted at young people (14+) is aimed at young people who wish to do introductory training in youth work/ ministry leadership development, with a view to progressing on to further youth work training in later life. It provides learners with knowledge in leadership development, delivery and evaluation of a youth work/ministry activity.
Level 2 Award in Mentoring Practice (3 Credits)
This qualification aimed at adults (18+) has been designed to help learners to develop effective mentoring skills and techniques and understand mentoring relationships.
Level 3 Certificate in Youth Work Practice (15 Credits)
This qualification for adults (18+) currently working or volunteering in a youth work/ministry context is designed to develop and enhance competence in the planning, delivery and evaluation of a group work programme in a youth work context. A prerequisite for entry to this programme is the achievement of the Level 2 Certificate in Youth Work Practice, since this Level 3 programme builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills gained through the Level 2 programme.
