Level 2 Award in Mentoring Practice

This qualification has been designed to help learners to develop effective mentoring skills and techniques and understand mentoring relationships. 

TARGET GROUP:  Adults (18 years and over) who wish to understand the role of the mentor and the benefits it can bring to people and communities.  

Level 2 Certificate in Youth Work Practice

This qualification incorporates the Award and incorporates the context of youth work in Northern Ireland as well as providing an understanding of the needs of young people, health and safety, safeguarding and managing challenging behaviour.  It addresses how to plan, deliver and evaluate a youth work activity, and is assessed through a written portfolio and engagement in workshop activities.   

TARGET GROUP: Adults (18 years and over) who are currently engaged in a leadership capacity in a youth work / ministry context and wish to develop their skills.

Level 2 Certificate in Youth Work Practice Open Programme (starting September 2023, Wednesday evenings)

Level 3 Certificate in Youth Work Practice

This qualification is designed to develop and enhance competence in the planning, delivery and evaluation of a youth work programme.  Applicants must have achieved the Level 2 Certificate in Youth Work Practice, since the knowledge of this programme builds on the understanding and skills gained through the Level 2 programme.  

TARGET GROUP:  Adults (18 years and over) who are currently working or volunteering in a youth work / ministry context and are required to deliver a group work programme.  

Level 3 Certificate in Youth Work Practice Open Programme (starting September 2023, Tuesday evenings)

Level 2 Award in Diversity and Good Relations

This qualification is designed to provide learners with an understanding of the importance of diversity and good relations. It helps learners to develop a sound awareness of diverse groups and the importance of respect within them.   Learners will have a better understanding of what is meant by prejudice and discrimination and will recognise the value of equal opportunities legislation.  

TARGET GROUP:  Adults and young people (minimum age 14 years ) who have an interest in diversity and good relations.  

Level 2 Award in Community Relations, Equality and Diversity (CRED) in Youth Work Practice

Designed to introduce the Department of Education’s CRED Policy, which aims to improve community relations, promote equality and acceptance of diverity.  It addresses core principles as well as developing an understanding of community conflict, discrimination and skills to address CRED issues in a youth work context.  

TARGET GROUP:  Adults (18 years and over) who are interested in the areas of CRED and who are working or volunteering in youth work.
