Joseph Rank Trust

The Joseph Rank Trust and the Rank Foundation

Youth Link continued its relationship with the Joseph Rank Trust in January 2010 with the appointment of Kate Maguire as a Youth Worker within the Youth Work Department. The trust funds youth workers within a Christian setting under the ‘YAP'  - Youth Apprenticeship Programme for five years, during these five years there is a study element to be completed through the YMCA George Williams College in London.

The Rank Foundation offer many different schemes and options for young people:

The Gap Scheme offers people aged 17-24 years the chance to undertake full-time youth work placements in Rank-funded initiatives.  Participation automatically entails enrolment in the Rank Volunteer Award.  The Foundation runs and funds this scheme, involving around 30-40 volunteers at any one time.

The Skills Apprenticeship is open to agencies already within the Rank Charities' youth work network. It was born out of recognition that there is a shortage of skilled workers who combine the right sort of governing body awards with training and qualifications as informal educators.

Jubilee Sailing Trust and Tall Ships Youth Trust - you will help with all aspects of sailing the ship and will go where the wind takes you....The berths (which cost between £500 and £1000) are free - you will need to find:  travel costs to and from the ship and some spending money.  You will also need a passport. The only thing the Rank Foundation asks in return for this sponsorship is that you write a short report of your adventures.
