Handling Life’s Conflict Programme

WAVE Trauma Centre

WAVE, a grass roots, cross community, voluntary organisation was formed in 1991 to support people affected as a result of violence in Northern Ireland.  Recently Youth Link delivered a ‘Handling Life's Conflict’ Programme to help the group explore conflict in their lives and communities.

Ballinamallard Youth Fellowship group

Ballinamallard is a small village just North of Enniskillen.  In conjunction with the Youth Worker in the area, who works with both the Church of Ireland and the Methodist Churches, Youth Link has been delivered an OCN Handling Life’s Conflicts programme based at the Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh.

The Park also became the setting for the ‘photo storyboard’ section of the course and it was fascinating to see participants engaging in this process as they brought locations, props and even the occasional 16th century character into the narrative.

Groups interested in learning more about their own conflict style, as well as the variety of conflict levels and strategies for dealing with difficult situations are encouraged to contact Youth Link.
