FAQ

 1.     How much does the course cost?

         Charges for courses, which include all accreditation fees, are currently:

         Level 1:  CR/EDI for young people -  £50 per person

         Level 2:  Introduction to CR/EDI- £100 per person

         Level 3:  CR/EDI  Programme Development - £75 per person

         Level 3:  Advanced CR/EDI programme for experienced practitioners -

         £150 per person

         ILM Level 4:  Strategic Planning for Managers and Policy Makers -

         £300 per person

 

However do not allow the costs to be prohibitive as there may be funding available to provide bursaries to young people and youth leaders, particularly those working in areas of social need.

 

2.      Can I enrol on a Level 3 course without completing Level 2?

         You must complete OCN Level 2 CR/EDI before progressing on to the OCN Level 3 CR/EDI

         Programme Development.  However if you are an experienced youth worker who is delivering

         CR/EDI programmes, you can enrol directly on to the OCN Level 3 Advanced CR/EDI

         programme.

 

3.      I will be 18 in three months time; can I begin the Level 2 course now?

         No - you must be 18 years of age at date of programme commencement.

 

4.      Do I have to be working as a youth leader to undertake Level 2  or Level 3 course?

         Yes, these are 60 hour programmes and 20 hours must be spent in concurrent youth work practice.

         However we are willing to work with you to find a voluntary placement to enable you to fulfil this

         requirement.

 

5.      Can I undertake the Level 1:  CR/EDI Programme as an individual?

         We are running the Level 1 as part of our Education for Peace programme for young people and you

         may enroll on this programme as an individual.  

 

6.      Do I need to attend all sessions?

         Yes, a requirement set by OCN NI is that all course participants must have an 80% attendance

         record as a minimum.
