FAQ

1.      How much does the course cost?

         Charges for courses, which include all accreditation fees, are currently:

         Level 1:  Leadership in Youth Work Programme - cost negotiated with groups applying

         Level 2:  Introduction to Youth Work - £100 per person

         Level 3:  Working with Others in a Youth Work Context & Programme Development

         - £100 per person

 

2.      Can I do Level 3 Youth Work Training Programme without completing Level 2?

         No, you must complete Level 2 first.

 

3.      I will be 18 in three months time; can I begin the Level 2 course now?

         No - you must be 18 years of age at date of programme commencement.

 

4.      Do I have to be working as a youth leader to undertake Level 2 Introduction to Youth

         Work?

         Yes, candidates will be expected to spend a minimum of 20 hours working with young people in a

         youth work / ministry or community setting over the duration of the programme.

 

5.      Can I undertake the Level 1:  Leadership in Youth Work Programme as an individual?

         No, courses will be delivered in church / community contexts.  

 

6.      Do I need to attend all sessions?

         Yes, a requirement set by OCN NI is that all course participants must have an 80% attendance

         record as a minimum.
