OCN Team on Mission Training Programme

YESIP Youth Work/EDI OCN Level  2 with Methodist Team on Mission

 

  

The Methodist Team On Mission (TOM) programme provided Youth Link with a strategic opportunity to impact on delivery across a range of locations, including border regions, where the intern volunteers are placed for a year. 

 

It is a particularly valuable opportunity to build capacity and to enable follow up contact with the local communities through the interns and their supervisors. This year the training took place in two stages; in early September the group explored the fundamentals of youth work and during October and November they were in placement in various communities in Northern Ireland and the border regions.

 

At the end of November participants took part in a week long residential in the Kilbroney Centre in Rostrevor to complete the qualification and to reflect on their experiences in community.  

 

Sixteen participants completed the training and all participants thought it was a worthwhile experience.
